Hubert Ritter was born in the Austrian Alps in 1961. As a teenager he was suffering from lower back pain. Massage and physiotherapy provided only temporary relief. He learned to look for his own solutions to the problem. This lead to an ever growing curiosity about the human body and its functioning. He started practicing Yoga and Tai Chi.

Rolfing-Praxen in Berlin: Hubert Ritter

After finishing school, he worked in his parents' business for a number of yaers and attended College. In 1991 he went to the USA to study Rolfing at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado. From 1994 to the summer of 1999 he worked in private practice as a Certified Rolfer in Washington, DC. Since the fall of 1999 he has been living and practicing in Berlin. He is licensed as a Heilpraktiker.

From 2003 to 2007 he served as Chairman of the Board of the European Rolfing Association. In the summer of 2008 he was elected to the Board of the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado, USA.

His Rolfing technique is strongly influenced by the work of Dr. Hans Flury, a Swiss physician and Rolfer, who has greatly contributed to the development of Rolfing over the past 20 years. He is a member of the Swiss Society for Structural Integration (SGSI), a group of Rolfers who are committed to the further development and spreading of Structural Integration and Normal Function. They meet at regular intervals for continuing education.

In his spare time, physical activity plays an important role too. Sailing and running are among his favorite pass times. In 2001 he participated in the Berlin-Marathon for the first time.
